Day 5 of lockdown, how’s everyone doing?
Mixed feelings on this side, there are worries.. But (although it’s busy) I’m really enjoying all the quality time with our little ones. It seems like they’re so much more relaxed now, after having been home for 2 weeks.. Although they do miss their friends, they’re happy. It seems like they’ve found a new normal (for now). I think we’ll never have too much to do with our kids these days. A Scavenger hunt in the garden is always a win. If your littles ones enjoy this too, let me know so I can send you our printable Nature Scavenger Hunt list. It keeps them busy for ours! A few days before lockdown we went on a #NatureScavengerHunt (far away from other people), we’re still using the list and all treasures we found. Not only for art, but also to be able to do a treasure hunt. I’ve been hiding all items around the house and garden, so much fun for the kids!

Beach time! We love going to the beach; splashing

Beach time!
We love going to the beach; splashing in the ocean, building sandcastles, exploring the tide-pools, and looking for animals hiding underneath rocks.
For me, the beach also has a calming effect. The sound of the waves and feet in the sand makes me unwind instantly.

Still a great place to go now during #covid19. .

This morning we started with some #natureplay. We used the #naturetreasures that the kids collected the past 2 days. It keeps them busy for hours!

Some activities they love and your little ones might enjoy too:
- Leaf matching / identification
- Nature art
- Colour sorting
- Counting - Make your own tic-tac-toe set
- Create #storystones and #kindnessrocks - Frozen flowers (thanks @tamsitam for this reminder)

School of the day - the forest! 🍃

As we all know, staying home with the kids all day can be a bit of a challenge.. 🍃

So if you’ve also chosen for #socialdistancing as much as possible - not because you fear that you’ve the virus, but because you want to protect the more vulnerable people around you.
You can still enjoy outdoor activities like going for a hike, riding bikes and going to the beach. Spending time in natural environments is so important for children (and adults), it improves their mental and physical well-being.

Playground equipment though, which are being touched by children who may not have the best hygiene, is best to avoid.

Healthy children will get through this without a problem. But remember, with Corona children are often the transmitters, not the victims.
Take care of yourself and your loved ones! .

Most of us have crazy schedules and are multitasking most of the day. I’m I right? Don’t forget to pause, breath and just be, to be able to keep going!⠀

We don’t always realize, but it’s even more important for our little ones to stop and recharge on a regular basis - their brains are still growing!⠀
⠀
Spending time outdoors (2 or more hours a week) is linked to a serious boost in well-being. So maybe we should try to give our children a gift that lasts a lifetime, a love for nature.⠀

Nature walks and bird watching are great #natureactivities that allow little ones to enjoy the environment while taking time away from screens and schoolwork. It will give them time to be in the moment and recharge. ⠀

I think we all want our kids to be happy and fulfilled. Lots of love is the best and most important start, but tell me, do you’ve any other secrets?

I feel, setting limits, spending time in nature and lots of play time do the trick for our kids. But, maybe a little selfish, it all starts with a happy me!
Sport, having fun with friends and me-time all work for me. And definitely #gratitude too! I’ve heard it’s the most powerful happiness boosting activity there is.
